  Pay-per-click systems have become extremely popular over the last couple of years. They are generally seen as quick fixes as far as search engine placements are concerned. The downside to this, however, is the high marketing expenses associated with such systems. Being listed for the right keywords may cost money per lead, but it can be managed in real time and can give a good ROI if done correctly. There are two major pay-per-click systems currently:

  The big advantages of using pay-per-click methodology are the ability to track your keywords efficiently, the ability to define your own creative ideas, and the ability to select regions and days when the ads can be displayed. Organic search results do not have the flexibility of pay-per-click campaigns. However, due to the auction nature of these pay-per-click systems, your costs could spiral within a few minutes, should your competitors decide to target your keywords.
  Managing a pay-per-click campaign can be time consuming and intimidating. You have to constantly keep track of your keywords and update your bid totals for an effective ROI. A regular analysis also needs to be done to determine the strong performing keywords and weed out the weak ones. This entire process consumes considerable amounts of time which can be very challenging for someone who is especially new to online marketing.
